Peter Jenner - interview netzpolitik.orgMarkus Beckedahl, founder and blogger of netzpolitik.org, talked to music management expert Peter Jenner in a long interview at a conference in Berlin about the idea of a culture flatrate, the expansion of intellectual property rights, digital rights management and the prosecution of p2p-users.

In the 1960s Peter Jenner has managed great and famous musicians like Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett’s solo career, Roy Harper or The Clash and has organized free concerts in London’s Hyde Park, culminating in The Rolling Stones’ famous 1969 performance. Nowadays he is Secretary-General of the International Music Managers’ Forum and has taken an active role in discussions on future music delivery systems. He has a keen interest in securing artists rights and their income and has spoken publicly on the subject. He proposed for example to replace existing consumer payment mechanisms for music rights with a mandatory, Europe-wide tax modelled on the UK’s TV licensing fee and to be paid by anyone with a broadband connection or mobile phone.

The (english) interview Markus Beckedahl has conducted with Peter Jenner exists as video or audio in different formats.
