Gabriele Eschig: Protection of Cultural Diversity

fair music - within the scope of the UNESCO Convention
The project “fair music” falls within the scope of the UNESCO Convention on Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expression and meets the goals and intentions of the UNESCO Convention, which entered into force on 18 March 2007. This project contributes to the development of Fair Trade standards for cultural goods and services.
“Fair music” wants to bridge the gap and offer a trusted label for both – artists and audience – to match their needs: musical diversity, recognition and remuneration. Furthermore, one of the main aims of this project is the development of standards for a quality label cooperation with partners from developing countries within the framework of UNESCO’s Global Alliance for Cultural Diversity.
Gabriele Eschig is Secretary-General of the Austrian Commission for UNESCO
