The jury is about to award the best achievement for exemplary conduct in the music business.

The fair music Award 2008 and the fair music certificates will be handed out in a festive manner on the 2nd of September 2008 in Eisenstadt/Austria.

Purpose and Overview:

About the 2008 fair music Award: Recognition for best practice and special achievements about fairness in the music business (fair music prize trophy and certificates, the right to use the fair music seal, exposure to international press, promotion of the repertoires via the fair music website and public relation).

Who can be nominated? Labels, publishers, initiatives and services providing the audience access to music.

Process of nomination: fans, listeners, musicians and composers enter nominees representing a good example of fair business practices in serving cultural diversity.

Criteria

The jury will use the following criteria to evaluate and rank nominees. Therefore, for each key factor listed below, describe in specific terms, the work or contribution that justifies the nomination.

* artistic freedom and freedom of expression: eg in the artistic process, partnership, expression, creativity
* fair terms for the creators (composers, musicians, artists): innovative business model, fair contracts, fair remuneration
* cultural diversity concerning repertoire, catalogue and sensitive promotion
* service for the consumer: guaranteed accessibility, availability, no technical protection measures
* easy access to all markets for musicians from developing countries.

Deadline:

The original nomination package must be received on Sunday, June 15, 2008.
All applicants will be notified of the decision until Friday, August 15, 2008.

How to Prepare and Submit Your Entry:

* There is no form to subscribe. Nominators should submit the nomination by the deadline.
* Electronic submittals are desirable.
* Please take care to ensure your nomination is complete and includes all the information requested. Do not submit several nominations at once - EACH nomination should be a stand-alone document.
* Electronic submissions should be ONE file, i.e. please do not send the description of biographical Sketch separate from the nominee’s name.
* Image format: jpg
* Audio format: mp3
* Nominations may be submitted electronically, by fax, or by mail.
